The Gardens of Galloway
Six gardens in south west Scotland joined together in 2011 to encourage people to discover the Gardens of Galloway. The project linked together six prominent gardens in the Rhins of Galloway to form Scotland’s Garden Route, highlighting the close proximity of these impressive gardens to each other, as well as the unusual and fascinating experiences that each offers the visitor.
The project brief included PR and marketing, brand identity and printed material and a website that can be updated by each garden.
The Gardens of Galloway combined a very strong product with an engaging consumer concept, giving enormous potential to drive new business to these gardens. The website copy, leaflet text and press release content all fed into each other, ensuring consistent key messages and making the delivery of this project very cost effective.
The branding for the Gardens of Galloway hinged on an idea of six directional arrows coming together to make a flower shaped logo. This fresh, colourful design was cascaded from the logo across the the website and leaflet, with the use of photos adding to the visual appeal of the completed project.
The strength of this website is in the ease of content management. As a collaborative project it is essential that each business is confident and capeable of making changes to their pages to ensure content is up to date and interesting for the visitor, so the content management system is intuitive and very easy to use.
